Rude Awakening

I got a new scale . And a kick in the a$$.

I knew my old one had been off for some time. I just thought it was off by a few pounds so I would add and subtract accordingly. Recently, it had gotten really inconsistent. I would step on and off 5 times and get totally different reads each time. I decided it was time to get a new scale.

I picked one up at Target yesterday. It's a digital scale. I put the batteries in and the directions said to step on it to activate. So I did. And my jaw dropped at the number. Of course, I had a cup of coffee in me, some breakfast, and was fully dressed, but I was shocked to see the number that came up. I had no idea that my old scale had been that off.

This morning I weighed myself first thing this morning and the number wasn't much different. I am thoroughly disgusted that I let myself get this bad. My husband got on the scale yesterday and I weigh more than him.

I guess, in a way, I am glad that this happened. I was already starting to fall off my diet - not counting points all day, eating the food off the snack table at work, stuff like that. This gave me the rude awakening that I needed to get back on track.


This is it. It's time to get healthy for me and my family.

I'm Back!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I am back....Again....I am no longer 210 lbs. I am more like 220. Nothing really seems to keep me on track, so I thought if I came back here and documented my struggle, I might try a little harder to stay on track.

I am not sure what I am going to do - exercising and keeping a food journal are at the top of the list. It's time to do really do something and get healthy for my family.

Friday Weigh In

I am at 204 - really no change. I have been slowly easing into eating better. I have such bad habits, I figure I can stick to them better if I slowly change.

New Goal

I am going to keep working on my previous goals. I am adding one though. I am going to stop eating white stuff - white sugar, white flour, etc. This is going to be a tough one, though, I know.

If anyone has any tips or meal ideas, I would love to hear them.
